poliopete a project about inspiration

I’m thinking of putting together a mini video - 30 seconds long, of some photos i’ve taken in this style. They’re so soaringly vast, so open-up-your-arms-and-stand-at-the-end-of-the-world, which is what i was going for, really. I hope it isn’t too airy…

I’ve been meaning to write about this girl since literally January 08. I came across a DVD which featured some of her work and it sat on my “pile of stuff to attend to” which kept getting bigger than smaller. So i turned the pile upside down.

Elle Muliarchyk has taken a sneaky approach to modeling, and as a result, built up quite a name for herself. She goes into NY boutiques and tries on a nice looking (and often expensive) outfit in the change-room. Naturally, the lighting in these places is pretty swanky, so all that’s needed is a striking pose and you have yourself a pretty impressive scene. You don’t even need a great camera, although i’m sure a timer and a handy ledge or hook will be the more important things to consider.

A shameless nab from the familiar strangers, this is a concise timeline of many of the famous rabbits to appear in illustration, animation and beyond. From the early days of Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit (1902) to the Raving Rabbid’s of the gaming world (2005), there’s plenty here for a trip down memory lane. Read the comments for plenty more missing ones.

In the coming years…

As I sit here on dial-up speeds after being shaped, I wonder if it’s actually a blessing in disguise.

You know that feeling of waking up, checking mail, facebook, flickr, myspace, twitter, the news and whatever else you might be a part of - and then going nuts on RSS feeds. The sheer volume of information is enormous, and the speed we go through it is made quicker by design, technology and innovations such as RSS itself. Snippets of “all you need to know” instantly given to you on far-reaching and often non-related subjects, quickly loaded for speedy reception.

Pandemic60 is run by a slightly disgruntled team of squirrels. It's based around the idea of Visual Infection - a collection of visual styles, ideas, systems, techniques or directions which have that certain feeling we can't quite pinpoint yet. Read some of the content and you'll get the general idea.
